— German producer Ben Böhmer was one of 2019’s breakthrough stars, with the release of his acclaimed debut album ‘Breathing’, described by Billboard as “one of the year’s best electronic albums.” Featuring collaborations with fellow rising German stars Monolink, Jan Blomqvist and Nils Hoffmann, the album has racked up 15 Million streams in six months since release.

Before being cut-short by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ben was halfway through a 40 date world tour, including sold-out headline shows in London, New York, Sydney, Berlin, Mumbai, Prague and more. Ben’s first live performance following the release of the album was at the iconic Printworks London, at Anjunadeep’s sold-out annual showcase. Showcasing his uplifting melodic sound to a crowd of over 5,000 fans, Ben weaved favourites from his back catalogue together with new material from the album. ‘Live from Printworks London’ also sees Ben debut three previously unheard tracks, ‘Phases’, a collaboration with Spencer Brown, along with ‘Motherboard’ and the epic ‘Zeit

The Lab Los Angeles is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collectives weekly post-work unwind where we stream only the finest American and international DJs, live and direct from our Downtown LA office. This Thursday, we had the pleasure to host two of Ninja Tunes finest, Machinedrum and Bonobo.

Travis Stewart is Machinedrum, a North Carolina native who saw his first release in 1999. Since, hes settled upon the moniker Machinedrum while also propelling his various collaborative projects Sepalcure (a duo with Praveen Sharma), JETS (with Jimmy Edgar) and Dream Continuum.

His resume boasts production and mixing duties for Theophilus Londons 2009 Want To 1 2? LP and 2010 Many Faces EP, production work for Azealia Banks and releases on LuckyMe, Planet Mu Recordings and Ninja Tune.

Machinedrums saw his bold conceptual album Vapor City come to life paired with an art exhibit in New York City, a digital citizenship program for fans and has most recently released a track called Angel Speak and announced a North American tour, which kicks off in October.
