Hot Guitars Out Of The Box (out of The Hot Rats Sessions Box!)
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — WARNING: THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ALBUM, but the content is from an official album. This is a selection / extrapolation of the guitar parts from The Hot Rats Sessions box. I assembled this compilation to listen non-stop to the guitar Frank played during those sessions. I worked a lot cutting and sewing, removing parts of other musical instruments, trying to combine the various fragments and the various takes in a fluid way.
This is from my own private collection. I assembled it for my personal listening and I share it for CULTURAL and EDUCATIONAL purposes to promote the artist (Frank Zappa).
I do not own the rights to this material, I use it only for promotional-cultural use. I believe this compilation is a great commercial for the box set. I am not financially (or otherwise) involved in selling The Hot Rats Sessions, but I hope this selection is an incentive for the undecided to buy the whole box, which is a casket of jewels (6 disc box set!). If, however, those who own the rights to these songs deem it inappropriate the presence of this video on You Tube, they can block it.

Diynamic has come up with another idea for a new series of EPs… Under the title Diynamic Revisited, it will see one artist remixing two older tracks from the label’s back catalogue. First up is David August, who has elected to re-envision tracks by Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Stimming.
Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s ‘Last Day’ was first released back in 2009 and was a tropical bit of metallic tech house. David August’s revision, though, transforms it into a much deeper, slower burning and spiritual track with heavenly chords and buried deep baselines. When it drops it’s a spine tingling, emotional track that will silence dancefloors for all the right reasons.
Stimming’s ‘Der Schmelz’ came on his Change EP in 2010 and was a kinetic and intense bit of synthetic tech house funk. After David August works his magic though, the track is a moody, patient and spaced out track with slowly undulating grooves, haunting synth sounds and lots of starry night sky melodies that really make you take note.
This is the start of a great new series and it kicks off with two essential new revisions by the one and only David August.
Improvisation and Alfred Hitchcock form the core of the German artists standout performance.
In preparation for his RA Session, David August sourced a voice sample of Alfred Hitchcock and composed some bass sounds. He then took the words of the revered film director as inspiration and built a completely improvised piece—one hes never performed before, and will never perform again. It was only a few years back that August was a DJ with a vague idea that hed like to just play live. These days hes one of the biggest draws in dance music, finishing 2014 as the #4 live act on our annual list. August has got there through the strength of his live show and a compelling signature sound. His sets blend musicianship with technical nous in a way that makes his efforts obvious to the audience—far from «pressing play,» in other words. As for his style, August made his name through a run of melodically rich club tracks for Diynamic Music and, most recently, Dixon and Âmes all-conquering Innervisions label. As on last years «Epikur,» he conjures emotions without resorting to clichés, delaying gratification until the moment is just right.
